Chapter 13: Coach Criminal Record Check, US Lacrosse Insurance & PCA

For the protection of all of our players and coaches, the York Suburban Lacrosse Club requires all coaches to obtain a current Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check and to obtain insurance as a coach through US Lacrosse. Additionally, the York County Lacrosse Association requires all coaches to be Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Certified Double-Goal Coach.

Follow the instructions below to obtain a criminal record check, insurance and PCA certification.

  1. In order to process a criminal record check, access the Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History (PATCH) website by following the link below:

    When you receive your Criminal Record Check confirmation, print it.
  2. Obtain a US Lacrosse membership as a coach online using the link below. Visit the 'Membership Information' section and choose to 'Apply or Renew Online':

    When you receive your US Lacrosse confirmation, print it.
  3. In order to become a Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Certified Double-Goal Coach, you must either attend the York County Lacrosse Association (YCLA) PCA coaches workshop, which is held each year in February, or complete the online PCA Double-Goal Coach Certification course by following the link below:

    When you receive your PCA Double-Goal Coach Certification confirmation, print it.
  4. Mail your criminal record check, US Lacrosse and PCA Double-Goal Coach Certification confirmations to the club general manager. Upon receipt, the general manager will review your paperwork and submit a request to the treasurer for a reimbursement check to be issued to you for the costs incurred.
